Students’ councellor

IOPS has appointed professor Martijn Berger as independent students’ councellor. PhD students may encounter different problems during their research project. These problems may be connected to the project itself. In that case the supervisor will be able to advise the student. In some cases the problem may be connected to the research setting itself, and may involve the relationship between the supervisor(s) and the student, or the student may need a confidential advise about personal matters. If, during the student’s time at the research school, he or she encounters problems that need to be handled confidentially, the student may contact professor Martijn Berger. He acts independently of the IOPS board, director or any other member. None of the student’s private information will be given to a third party without the student’s consent. Together with the student, the councellor will work out a plan to try to solve the problem.
